Arthur N. Wanta Arthur N. Wanta, 76, 1843 Ellis Road, Custer, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, with Deacon Jim Maciejewski officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin's Cemetery in Ellis. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Monday until the services. A memorial in his name will be established at a later date. Condolences may be offered online at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com. Mr. Wanta was born Dec. 29, 1932, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Adolph and Teckla (Helminski) Wanta. He served in the National Guard for a number of years. He was married to Nila Newby on Nov. 27, 1952, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Ellis. She died July 2, 1979. He was a self-employed mechanic. He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 185. Survivors include three sons, Kurt (Kristine) Wanta, Rudolph, Tim (Jackie) Wanta, Idaho, and Shawn (Shannon) Brandt, Stevens Point; seven daughters, Faith (Ernie) Bluma and Desiree (Todd) Laska, both of Custer, Danette Biadasz and Hope (Dave) Bemowski, both of Stevens Point, Pam Goodness, Osseo, Dawn (Rick) Christenson, Scandinavia, and Charity (Jeff) Myhre, Little Suamico; one brother, Jim, Custer; 26 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert.
